Anyway this footage was taken during a tournament in August of 1989 and was posted to YouTube by Yo Vinny! Productions (who filmed the original footage) Take a look at the grandaddy of all our laser tag fun, kiddies!
And notice everyone in their matching shirts – even if they only had iron-on letters in Cooper font stuck on the back. Oh, if only PEWPEW Custom Laser Tag Apparel had existed then to save them from such folly!

Photon started the trend with player passports. These were individual ID numbers for your actual name and information, but your chosen warrior name had to be entered manually. And woe betide someone who deliberately used the name of a noted player! Epic one-on-one battles were fought for codename rights, with the loser being forced to bear whatever name the victor decided to give them as a punishment.
I don’t even have to put the beginning of that phrase on there, do I, girls? You know it by heart as well as I do. However – for our less-educated male friends – let me put it all out there:
ARRRRRRRRRGH. Has there ever been a “compliment” so utterly demeaning? STOP IT. So you went to Ultrazone or LQ and got your ass handed to you by a woman. Be a man and admit it; otherwise, all you’ve accomplished is to label yourself as a crybaby.
